Message from the founders
I (Joe) started The Maker’s Almanac as a side project back in 2012 to explore, support, and raise awareness of the entrepreneurial efforts of makers in the United States and around the world. I was, and still am, fascinated by entrepreneurs who build, design, create, bake, brew, grow, distill, and program. And, while my work on the project only lasted a brief amount of time, the interest in the project never really subsided; mine or the followers’. Amazingly, 1200+ of you have joined already!
Cue to today: I recently realized that my friend Yev was interested in understanding the same people, processes, and products that I was interested in understanding. So, we decided to team up and re-launch a new The Maker’s Almanac, with a focus on authentic, local craftspeople – folks who are (re)-inventing work and life in America, and who do what they do for the love of it, and not for just profits (although let’s be clear, also for the profits).
And so, after a long hiatus, The Maker’s Almanac is back. We are very eager to grow this project with you, and have some ambitious plans for the next 3-6 months. Thank you for following and joining us for the ride!
